FIA WTCR

Real cars. Real racing.

Taking everyday cars with everyday engines to their absolute limits, the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) is one of the fastest growing and most spectacular motorsport series in the world with 30 races staged in 9 countries across Europe, South America, Africa and Asia in 2018. Drivers compete both on specially designed circuits and street tracks. In order for each event to run smoothly, a complex, far-reaching range of logistics need to be managed. Precise planning, fast decision making and reliable delivery are vital and from the start the series’ organizers reached out to DHL to manage the ‘race behind the race’.

Logistical planning and organisation

Taking the WTCR to four different continents and regions during an eighth-month period requires significant logistical planning and organisation, which is where DHL, the WTCR’s Official Logistics Partner, performs a vital role.

Great feeling

Winning the DHL Pole Position Award in 2015 was a great feeling, and I am very proud to win it again for a second consecutive year. Qualifying is the most decisive step before a race. With this award, DHL has highlighted that selecting the right strategies, preparing thoroughly and delivering a strong performance in qualifying can give you a clear advantage over the competition and put you closer to the podium before the main racing action has started.
