DHL & Harlequins Take Partnership to New Heights

DHL and Harlequins announce a ground breaking partnership that sees the world’s leading logistics company become the club’s new main partner.

On June 9, 2014, DHL and Harlequins took their longstanding partnership to another level and DHL is now the club’s main partner. The partnership with DHL will create a firm foundation for the club’s future success and provide a stable platform from which Harlequins can continue their success on the pitch and maintain their innovative approach off it.

We want to help Harlequins continue their success on the pitch and maintain their innovative approach off it.

Harlequins Chief Executive David Ellis commented: “Securing DHL as Harlequins long-term main partner is tremendous for the club. It’s really exciting for Harlequins to have signed with a company of DHL’s stature.

“DHL has been part of the Harlequins family since 2012 and our relationship has flourished during that time. They have proven to be a partner who really understands our sport and the values that drive it.

“This is a truly formidable proposition with a globally renowned brand working closely with one of the world’s leading rugby clubs. Together we can achieve great things and we are both very excited at that prospect.”

DHL Express UK and Ireland CEO, Phil Couchman added: “As DHL’s own values are embedded in the qualities of teamwork, passion, and commitment, we’re delighted to partner with a club that is so aligned with us.

“As a leading brand in world rugby, we look forward to seeing the Quins’ success over the coming years on a global scale.

"Backed by a worldwide network and years of practice on the global playing field, this partnership’s a perfect fit for DHL internationally.”

DHL & Rugby – a longstanding relationship
The partnership between DHL and Harlequins continues a longstanding relationship between DHL and the game of Rugby. DHL is the Official Logistics Partner of Rugby World Cup 2015, having held this same role in 2011 in New Zealand. The company was also a naming rights sponsor of the recent 2013 British & Irish Lions Tour of Australia. In addition to their work with Harlequins, DHL is the main partner of the Canadian national rugby team, the DHL Stormers in South Africa, the Irish Rugby Football Union and a number of tournaments within the IRB Sevens World Series. Other initiatives by DHL to support rugby development around the world have included partnerships with Rugby Federations, tournaments, clubs and school programs as far afield as Fiji, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Romania.

Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the world, played in over 100 countries. A total of 102 million global viewers watched the Final of Rugby World Cup 2011.
