#1 DHL AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL FASHION POTENTIAL

Through its cooperation with theBritish Fashion Council, DHL launched an award program, DHL Award for International Fashion Potential, recognizing ‘International Fashion Potential’ supporting British fashion businesses in their ambition to go global.

DHL provides an annual prize of £20,000 to a promising fashion business to help them realise their potential to take products to new, international markets. In addition, the annual DHL program offers mentoring and logistics support for designers and the BFC gives support through its Designer Business Development Program.

WINNER OF THE DHL AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL FASHION POTENTIAL 2017: RIXO LONDON

The winner of the DHL Award for International Fashion Potential 2017, RIXO London, was announced at London Fashion Week in September 2017.

RIXO London was founded in 2015 by London College of Fashion alumni Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey. Both 20-something-year-olds’ love for all things vintage led to the birth of RIXO London. Together with DHL and BFC the British Fashion Label will improve their international supply chain of their artistic signature pieces made of printed and embroidered silk.

#2 YOUNG DESIGNER DHL AWARD

In collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana DHL organized multiple workshops involving start-up brands, young designers and members. These seminars give insights on e-commerce and custom regulations in the fashion business as well as the opportunities and challenges of different trade lanes and transport solutions.

Additionally, DHL formed part of a jury together with Camera Moda to launch the Young Designer DHL Award and to select the most international brand from all young designers participating at the Fashion Hub Market.

WINNER OF THE YOUNG DESIGNER DHL AWARD 2017: BAMS

The winner of the Young Designer DHL Award 2017, Bams, received 10,000 € and a DHL care package to ease its international express shipments. The award was presented at the Camera Moda opening event in September 2017.

The Neapolitan shoe and accessory brand Bams was founded in 2015 by Ginevra Vitale who went to work in the family company after her media studies. With Bams she preserves and revives the excellent craftsmanship of the footwear family company in Naples.

 

#3 DHL DESIGNER AWARD

The Award ceremony at Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo was the 13th in the history of the DHL Designer Award, which began in 2011 and has ever since played an instrumental role in showcasing Japan’s design talents to the world.

The winners were selected by DHL, the Official Logistics Partner for the Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo and Japan Fashion Week Organization, among promising fashion designers who showcased their SS18 collections at Fashion Week Tokyo from 16th to 22nd of October 2017.

WINNER OF THE DHL DESIGNER AWARD 2017: 5-Knot

The award was presented to Ena Kizawa and Taketo Nishino, the designer duo behind 5-knot, in recognition of their creative designs’ potential to go global. The annual DHL Designer Award provides the winner with international shipping credits valued at 500,000 yen (JPY), to ship fashion collections, samples and other design material worldwide.

The Japanese label 5-knot was launched in 2013. “Journey and Vintage” is the concept of the brand, meaning their collections and designs are nurtured by their travels around the world and the landscapes, cities, cultures and vintage items they discover.

Together with multiple fashion organizations across the globe DHL supports young fashion businesses and design talents to streamline their international supply chain and expand their business into new retail and e-commerce markets.

In the future DHL wants to strengthen its long-standing partnerships with London Fashion Week, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks in Sydney, Berlin and Moscow, Sofia Fashion Week and Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo.
