PILOTING THE FASTEST AERIAL CHALLENGE ON THE PLANET

Globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motorsport on the planet, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship is back after a three-year hiatus and backed by DHL-piloted logistics. This advanced aerial challenge is a visual spectacle unlike any other – a combination of high speed, low altitude and extreme maneuverability make it a sport in which only the world’s most exceptional pilots can compete.

12 pilots take to the skies in eight races across the globe for the title of 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. Using the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes, they navigate a low-level aerial track made up of 25-meter air-filled pylons known as “air gates.” The objective is to fly the fastest possible time while incurring as few penalties as possible. Pilots can win points at each race and the pilot with the most points after the last race becomes the champion.

As Official Logistics Partner of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, DHL manages the transportation of the lightweight racing planes, spare parts, fuel and other racing equipment as well as the television and broadcasting equipment around the world for this global race series. DHL taps its intelligent logistics expertise to support the Red Bull Air Race organizers, using appropriate transport modes – including ocean, air and road freight – in order to ensure on-time delivery in the most environmentally friendly way.

With eight races, this year's series is landing in the United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Malaysia, Poland, Great Britain, the U. S. (two races) and Austria.
