10. Winter Training Camp – Doha, Qatar

9. Bayern win German Bundesliga Championship

The Bundesliga champs for the 2014/2015 season were known weeks in advance, but it was still an amazing feeling to see FC Bayern lift the trophy for the 25th time in the team’s history. Strong opponents in the Champions League and German Cup competitions, combined with some untimely injuries for Bayern, meant the team was eliminated early from the other two major tournaments.

8. FC Bayern Munich Flagship Store Powered by DHL on Tmall Global

Right on the heels of the Bundesliga championship came another huge announcement from FC Bayern: over 90 million Chinese fans of Germany’s most successful soccer club gained access to the team’s official merchandise through the Flagship Store, which is built upon DHL’s eCommerce expertise and fulfillment.

Soccer players take their jobs seriously. That’s true when they are keeping a tight defense against a tough opponent, pouring themselves a cup of tea, or protecting garden gnomes – check out this video to see what we mean!

6. Rock-star reception for FCB - China

Just a few weeks after the launch of the Flagship Store, the FC Bayern players landed in a sea of officially-clad Chinese fans when they arrived in Beijing for the Audi Summer Tour 2015. We met some of the fans first-hand, learned about what makes DHL’s eCommerce fulfillment services in China tick, and even got a shoutout from Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge for DHL’s logistics during the tour!

5. Philipp Lahm on delivery - Beijing, China

Chinese fans took to FC Bayern’s new Flagship Store on Tmall Global very quickly, placing orders for all kinds of official FC Bayern merchandise. That included one very lucky FC Bayern fan named Harvey, who had his Philipp Lahm jersey personally delivered by the FC Bayern captain himself!

4. Record-setting start to 2015/2016 season

Bayern often dominate their opponents, but sometimes their superiority is just astounding! Take, for example, Robert Lewandowski’s unforgettable performance against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga back in September: he scored FIVE goals, as a substitute, in just nine minutes! Check out our review to see his new entries in the Guinness Book of Records, and to hear about the amazing season Thomas Müller has been having.

3. Manfred hits the road – London, England

As part of the group stage for the 2015/2016 Champions League competition, Bayern played on the road against London’s Arsenal in October. DHL delivery driver Manfred Höglauer – a Bayern fan through and through  made the journey from Munich to London with the team’s equipment for the match. Although the result wasn’t exactly what he had hoped for, it was a memorable trip for Manfred and provided a glimpse of how the behind-the-scenes logistics works for an away match.

2. FC Bayern’s first “Singles Day” in China

Singles Day is the Chinese equivalent of Black Friday and Cyber Monday rolled into one. It sees millions of people completing orders online, and for the first time since its inception in May, FC Bayern’s online flagship store on Tmall Global was part of the action. In their first effort, Bayern saw 6,000 orders completed in just 24 hours!

1. Ending 2015 on a high note

The numbers don’t lie: Bayern earned the distinction of the Bundesliga’s unofficial “Autumn Champion” by scoring 46 points from 17 matches. They lost just two matches in all competitions, and finished at the top of their group in the Champions League.

After Pep Guardiola announced he’ll be leaving the club at the end the season, will FC Bayern be able to secure all three titles this season? The work begins in just a week’s time at the 2016 winter training camp in Doha. Here’s hoping for plenty of goals, championships, and amazing FC Bayern Munich action in 2016! As the team’s logistics and full-service e-commerce partner, DHL will be there every step of the way!
