FC Bayern hones focus ahead of important Champions League match

Back from the international break, FC Bayern Munich are right where they belong: at the top of the Bundesliga table and eyeing their next opponent in the Champions League.

Perhaps the international break of two weeks stretched a little too long for some of the FC Bayern players as they returned to the Bundesliga over the weekend: the squad looked a little flat at times during the 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Coach Carlo Ancelotti put it in his usual direct terms: “We were asleep for 45 minutes.”

However, an undefeated record in the Bundesliga and a lead in the table does provide a degree of comfort when the team’s performance loses some of its luster. By Wednesday, however, Ancelotti’s men hope to bring back the polish to their game.

We have to get a grip. The Champions League is up on Wednesday. We absolutely must take three points.

After a tough 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid on the road in the first group stage match of the Champions League in September, FC Bayern will look forward to playing in front of their home crowd at the Allianz Arena when they take on PSV Eindhoven this week.

It’s not just the support of fans in Munich that the team can count on, but also fans from all over the world. The Global FC Bayern Family continues to grow – all the more incentive for the team to “hit the gas from the very first minute and combine our individual quality with attitude and passion,” as defender Mats Hummels put it after Sunday’s match. “Then we'll be incredibly strong.”

From the United States to China and beyond, the FC Bayern Family is truly global – and you can join as well! Just head to DHL’s Global FC Bayern Family page and sign up. Be sure to submit a selfie and add your face to the Global Fan Wall! As always, Mia San Mia!
